Striking Fear Into The Heart of Barbara...

So much catch-up to do on blogging...so this will be a random post. All of the following pictures are from a birthday party we had for my parents the Sunday before Sadie was born. My brother Lane & sister Lanette were in town visiting - which was so fun! They were both here for a couple of weeks and it was great. They even got to see Sadie at the hospital before leaving. So April was just a party month.

This first picture is the inspiration for the title of this post, no it's not Welly that strikes fear into my heart...

...it is the horse on which he rides. Mom got this DI special for Sadie not too long ago & Ry put batteries in it so Welly could enjoy it when he visits. It whinnies, and gallops, it's mouth even moves. Fun, right!? So you'd think...it only makes noise when it moves, or when the button on it's ear gets pushed. Sometimes we wake in the middle of the night to hear it whinny-ing and galloping in the other room. Kind of freaks me out...a lot.

Some of us siblings chipped in and got mom and dad a digital camera for their birthday - I haven't seen them so excited about a gift since we sent them to see Sara Brightman in concert. It was like Christmas for little kids! And their faces in these next pictures are classic.

Carrie & I decided we'd have a little kids birthday party for them - pin the tail on the donkey, cake for each, balloons, streamers, & of course noise makers. Ry thought it would be a good idea to change pin the tail on the donkey to - pin the dentchers on the old people...it was a hit!

Oh, we had a good time! Best party ever! And just so you know, when I turn 65 next year, it will be cause to celebrate all over again!

Thank you kids for such a memorable party, and yum, the food was excellently delicious. You can see by the pictures the gift was choice!

I love you family, Mom
