Baby-Schaefy is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango). Her skin is red and wrinkled. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare her for breathing. She can swallow like a pro now! Loud noises heard often in utero - such as a dog barking or the roar of a vacuum cleaner - probably won't faze her when she hears them outside of the womb. She'll be especially used to me talking and Ryan saying "boo". =) Since one of his favorite past times is still trying to sneak up on the baby. We had a monumental morning! Ry was able to feel the baby for the first time. It was, of course, during her early morning gymnastics routine between 5am-7am. She was flopping all over the place! Summersaults or something - then she was kicking and stretching. It was so fun! He loved it.
